Bitter Warfare Is Dear To Us (0)

Posted 13 July, 2007 in D: 2000, F: The X-Files, Pairing: Het, Rating: R

Scully confronts Krycek after her sister’s killing.

Vielen, vielen Dank to ETo’J, who beta-read this and grinned knowingly. There’s a sociopath sitting on your couch, Evil Twin — and he’s got on leather gloves. I’ll get out the ice cream, shall I?

Wake up
Somethings you can’t get around
I’m in you
More so when they put me in the ground.
U2. Dirty Day.

This story was posted with the permission of both Gizzie and Martha Little, authors of the Messenger/Time/Tercet universe. It deals with Langly’s alcoholism within that universe.

Muchas gracias to my beta, Nancy Floyd-Finch, also known as “Evil Mistress of Betas.” If this story has any merit, it’s because of her beta, and her re-beta, and her re-re-re-beta.

“It must be understood that neither by word nor deed
had I given Fortunato cause to doubt my good will.
I continued, as was my wont, to smile in his face,
and he did not perceive that my smile NOW was at
the thought of his immolation.”

At the Ragged Edge / This Is Your Lullaby (0)

Posted 12 July, 2007 in D: 1996, F: The X-Files, Pairing: Het, Rating: PG13

This is the first fic I ever wrote, way back in 1996. If you want to read it, and I don’t know why on earth you would, it is in two parts:

Part One
Part Two

I just keep it around to remind myself that the first fic I ever wrote was a songfic. It keeps me humble.

Disclaimer: Don’t own ‘em. Don’t want ‘em. Well, I *could* do with some Krycek and vanilla ice cream . . . but I shall resign myself.Extremely grateful thanks to NancyFF for the once-over. And to JET for dabbling in my macabre fairy tale, saving my career, playing in Krycek’s neighborhood. He’s saving his best smile for you.

Pretty Fly (for a white guy) 1C –I Have Met The Enemy (0)

Posted 11 July, 2007 in D: Unknown, F: The X-Files, Pairing: Het, Rating: PG13

a continuation of jennyo’s ‘pretty fly’ universe, where spender is a hee-yuge loser with a really long wishlist.

She said, “Was that for me?” I said “Yeah.” She said, “Why?”
I said, “Come on and take a ride with a hell of a guy.”
. . . . . . . . .
She took her shoes off onto the floor.
She said, “Drive fast. Speed turns me on.”
She put her hand on my knee. I put my foot on the gas.
We almost got whiplash, we took off so fast.
The sunroof was open, the music was high,
and this girl’s hand was slowly moving up my thigh.
She had opened up three buttons on her shirt so far –
I guess that’s why I didn’t notice that police car.

4. Mulder, undercover, in an Easter bunny suit.
5. Krycek and Scully caught kissing.

Zara: I’d like to thank my brain for the bolt of inspiration.
Brain: You’re welcome. Just don’t expect it again for awhile.
Zara: Thanks a lot. You’re so helpful.
Brain: Hmmmm…donuts….

I’ve had enough. I think I’m going to quit my job.

He That Shewed Him Mercy (Story 1) (0)

Thanks to Nancy Floyd-Finch, who calls me Miss Thing, and who knows the difference between ‘rack’ and ‘wrack.’ You rock.

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him.

The Love Song of CGB Spender (0)

Posted 11 July, 2007 in D: 2000, F: The X-Files, Filks, Pairing: None, Rating: G

a filk of Mr. T.S. Eliot’s “Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, one of my favorite poems in the whole world. I mean only respect. (Performed at OBSSE Fest Talent show, 2000.)

Let us go then, you and I,
When evening is spread out against the sky
like Cassandra Spender’s belly on a table;
Let us spend our time in Army bases
searching for familiar faces,
hoping against hope to find a way to save
the world; looking for the family that we gave
in a worthy cause,
which leads you to the overwhelming question:
Oh, do not ask, “What mytharc?”
I sha’n't leave you in the dark.

Inside A Lion (Story 4) (0)

Posted 11 July, 2007 in D: Unknown, F: The X-Files, Mercy Universe, Pairing: None, Rating: PG13

Thanks to my beta, Nancy FF, who thinks that Spender drinks girly beer. And since she’s right about everything else. . . .

I am writing this poem
From inside a lion
And it’s rather dark in here.
